Our mission

To foster inclusivity, we aspire to be a welcoming space that offers essential support, services, and resources to the most vulnerable populations. Our aim is to enhance the living conditions of all individuals, creating an environment where everyone can thrive.

Our Mandate

  • To be a harmonious and empowering community home for people in need;

  • To promote social justice by encouraging peaceful relationships;

  • To help communities take care of their members, notably by serving them meals, offering the necessary support for their social reintegration and promoting the strengthening of their self-esteem;

  • To promote involvement and networking among individuals, businesses and corporations working in similar fields and, in some cases, to provide financial assistance.

Our Objectives

We have several objectives that determine our proceedings. Our first objective is to address the challenges associated with housing insecurity. In effect, we are providing all individuals an opportunity to regain control over their lives, rediscover themselves, and reintegrate within society. We also aim to promote the health of each individual who utilizes our services. We want to prevent housing instability by developing collaborations with other health, social services, and community network authorities to guide people who feel ready to take charge of their lives. Finally, we aim to establish mentorships and educational services for students/interns in social work.

Our philosophy of intervention

RESPECT, HUMANISM, OPENNESS, INTEGRITY, AND EQUALITY

The above values guide us in our intervention philosophy. In addition, we use a humanistic approach, active listening, and respect while conducting interventions. By choosing a harm reduction approach to better reach the marginalized population, our objective is to give them a chance to regain power over their lives make peace with themselves, with their past, and society.

Our methods of intervention have undoubtedly changed in recent years. We have established a culture of intervention where the intervener is at the forefront. We employ a scaffolding approach that supports while refraining from invasiveness with sustained clinical supervision.

We rely on interventions that respect the person's pace, choices, and dreams. The first step taken with visitors is to create a plan of action to get back in touch with their needs, no matter how basic they may be. We must give people time to warm up to the resources, get to know, and trust us. In the meantime, we actively listen to their needs. It is important for workers to recognize that individuals are more than their mental illnesses, addictions, behaviors, coping mechanisms, and any challenges they may face, as these do not fully define them as individuals.
